Hornets, Typhoons Join Malaysian Exercise

Eurofighter Typhoons from the Royal Air Force's 6 Sqn have joined aircraft from four other nations in Malaysia for exercise "Bersama Lima 2011". The Royal Australian Air Force sent Boeing F/A-18A fighters and a 737-based Wedgetail airborne early warning and control system aircraft to participate in the manoeuvres that are being conducted from Butterworth air base in Penang.

Rheinmetall Nordic AS is the successor company of Simrad Optronics AS, which Rheinmetall took over in summer 2010.

FNSS of Turkey, a joint venture between BAE Systems, Inc. and Nurol Holding  of Turkey, has received and signed a $559 million letter of offer and acceptance  (LOA) from DEFTECH of Malaysia for the design, development and manufacture of 257 DEFTECH AV-8 8×8 wheeled armored vehicles and Integrated Logistics Support  for the Malaysian Armed Forces.
