SURABAYA - MICOM, Director of Human Resources, PT Penatarsan Angkatan Laut  (PAL) Indonesia, Soewoko Kartanegara, said that PT PAL will conduct a joint production with the Netherland in building Guard Missile Destroyer (PKR) ship.

"Until now the process is still in negotiations" he said during a visit to PT PAL Indonesia, Surabaya, Wednesday (2 / 11). Soewoko explained that the ship to be built is the Sigma Class, its main parts will be made in the Netherlands, while other parts will be made in Indonesia.

Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding (DSNs) is a company from the Netherlands who will conduct a joint production with Indonesia. There are some things that are still being negotiated by PT PAL, among them is the number of PT PAL personnel to be sent, and the number of ships that will be produced.

"We still wants 200 personnel, and the number of ships can not be just one, because the price will be expensive," he concluded. Meanwhile, Special Staff of President Director of PT PAL, Field of Defence Equipment, Edy Andarto, revealed that PT PAL has developed a new design for Frigate ship and LHD (Landing Helicopter Dock) ship. "But it all depends on the government, like when to order it," he says.
