The SAF Conducts Live firing Exercise in the US

The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) is conducting a High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) live-firing exercise, code-named Daring Warrior, from 21 October to 7 November 2011, at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, USA. The exercise involved 234 personnel from the Headquarters, Singapore Artillery, Headquarters 3rd Division Artillery and 23rd Battalion, Singapore Artillery as well as the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF).

TAIPEI, Taiwan - ST Kinetics (STK), the land-systems component of Singapore Technologies (ST) Engineering, and Singapore Polytechnic (SP) announced the launch of the SP-STK Robotics Laboratory on Oct. 14.

The bilateral exercise codenamed Valiant Mark between the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) and the United States Marine Corps (USMC) drew to a close on the evening of 30 Sep at Bedok Camp. A few hours before then, the two sides were still locked in a gruelling three-day battalion-level exercise. If they were fatigued, it certainly did not show in the soldiers from the two armed forces.

ST Engineering's Land Systems Arm Secures $68m Contract to Supply New Generation Spider Light Strike Vehicles

SINGAPORE --- ST Engineering today announced that its land systems arm, ST Kinetics, has won a contract worth S$68m from the Singapore Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) through an international tender, to supply its new generation Spider Light Strike Vehicles (Spider LSV) and spares. Delivery is expected to take place over 2013-14.

The Singapore and Australian armies conducted a bilateral armour exercise, Exercise Matilda, at the Mount Bundey Training Area (MBTA) in Darwin, Australia.

Commissioning of the HIMARS

Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen officiated at a ceremony to mark the commissioning of the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) and operationalisation of the first HIMARS Battery at Khatib Camp this afternoon.  

Navies Complete Sea Phase of CARAT Singapore 2011

The Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) conducted a live-firing of the Barak anti-missile missile in the South China Sea earlier today as part of the annual Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) exercise which the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) is conducting with the United States Navy (USN).  

Singapore F-15SGs Escape Brush Fire at Mountain Home

Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) F-15SG  is towed to safety at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho.

A brush fire that was believed to have been started by a lightning strike on the evening of August 15 at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho, meant that all flying operations were halted and personnel evacuated from flight line buildings as the fire approached the base.
