The Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) and Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) have achieved all the objectives of SAREX MALBRU 10/2011.

Both air forces displayed a high level of commitment and have narrowed the existing gap in determining the direction of the training exercise so as to ensure that both sides are prepared in case of any eventuality.

This was stated by Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Hj Abdullah bin Hj Jofri, the Commander of the Royal Brunei Air Force in a speech at the closing ceremony for the training exercise between RBAirF and RMAF yesterday, at the RBAirF Base in Rimba.

Leading the Royal Malaysian Air Force delegation at the ceremony was Major General Dato 'Sabri bin Adam, Force Commander of 2nd Air Division Officer, RMAF.

Like in previous years, this year's SAREX MALBRU has achieved its objectives and aspirations in further enhancing the mutual understanding of both parties in search and rescue operations, a press release from the Ministry of Defence stated. "What is most important is that it can strengthen relationships and cooperation between the RBAirF and RMAF," the statement reads.

Brig Gen (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Hj Abdullah, the RBAirF Commander in his speech said, "The change of mindset and discussions that bring in ideas that help the development of both nations are needed."

Also present at yesterday's closing ceremony were Col (U) Ali bin Hj Sabar, Deputy Commander of RBAirF; Col Hj Kamarudin bin Haron, Malaysian Defence Advisor in Brunei; and other senior officers of the Royal Brunei Air Force and Royal Malaysian Air Force.
